Ronaldo to Juve? A matter of hours!

What until a week ago might have seemed like just a transfer speculation is about to become a reality. In the last few hours, there has been significant confirmation that, at least on Cristiano Ronaldo's side, his desire to move to Juventus is now firmly established and, indeed, the only possible solution to the huge uncertainty surrounding his imminent footballing future. But how will this be possible?

Mendes and Juventus management are in close contact, and there's growing optimism about the success of the deal. Florentino Perez, who has now resigned himself to losing Ronaldo, wants the Portuguese to publicly declare his intention to leave Real Madrid so as not to be seen as the president who sold one of the club's most important players. Mendes (and Juventus) are waiting for the Merengues' number one to put pen to paper on the agreement, so far only verbal, which would allow Ronaldo to leave for €100 million, not the €1 billion clause. Perez and his right-hand man, José Ángel Sánchez, spent all of Monday morning locked in the Bernabéu offices calibrating their strategy and likely identifying Ronaldo's replacement (it's unthinkable for Real Madrid to let the Portuguese leave without a suitable incoming player). Tomorrow, the club's board of directors will meet, an opportunity for discussions and also for a potential announcement. Mendes is in Porto but will be the first to rush to Madrid as soon as the signal comes. Meanwhile, Ronaldo is relaxing in Greece with Georgina, with the private jet always ready to depart for Turin Caselle. And everything suggests that this will be the week of takeoff.
