Global fintech platform Revolut has announced important news for its Premium and Metal customers: buying and selling gold is finally available within the app. By logging into the app, in the Dashboard > "Products" section , you can buy and trade gold using real-time prices obtained through Precious Metals, its trusted services partner. Specifically, any investment made by the user will not be physical (meaning they will not receive the gold physically), but rather backed by metal stored at its partner , the London Bullion Market Association. Of course, users can conveniently transfer it to other users via the Revolut app, or instantly convert it into bitcoin or e-money. What's more, the auto-exchange feature allows users to set a price at which to exchange their gold exposure; the transaction will be automatically completed as soon as the market price reaches the set target.
This is the true revolution being driven by British Fintech. Breaking down the traditional barriers of inaccessible financial products, such as investing in cryptocurrencies or commission-free trading.
During times of great tension on financial markets, the challenging English bank is making gold trading transparent—a recognized safe haven in difficult times—alongside currencies, cryptocurrencies, and stocks. It should be noted that the service is reserved for premium users, those with a Premium or Metal account. The app charges a 0.25% commission on each gold transaction during the week, rising to 1% on weekends . Ivan Chalov , Product Owner for Precious Metals at Revolut, explains: "Access to gold is the latest innovation we've introduced to allow our users to further diversify their portfolios. Just like with stock market investments, many people have been left out of access to gold because they found it difficult to know where to start."
